Linear Warranties

TCP warrants its products to abide by their respective published specifications and are free from defects in material, workmanship and title and to operate from the date of Invoice (or date of manufacture if invoice date is not known or available) for the time periods and subject to the Terms and Conditions specified below.

This warranty only applies when TCP products are operated as specified, have been correctly wired and installed; are operated within the electrical values publicized on the all labels; used in lighting equipment designed and approved for the application and in environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and air movement) within the normal specified operating range of the system.

Terms and Conditions

TCP Lamps only
One year from Date of Invoice1 (or Date of Manufacture if proof of purchase is not available). If lamps fail within this warranty period, TCP will provide a free one for one lamp replacement. No labor allowance is allowed. TCP reserves the right to request defective lamps be returned for testing and verification.

TCP Ballasts only
Five years from Date of Invoice2 (or Date of Manufacture if proof of purchase is not available). If ballasts fail within this warranty period, TCP will provide a free one for one ballast replacement along with a corresponding labor allowance as determined by TCP as specified in Service Claims and Labor Options sections. TCP reserves the right to request defective ballasts be returned for testing and verification.

TCP Lamp and TCP Ballast, luminaire by other
Three years for TCP Lamps and Five Years for TCP Ballasts from Date of Invoice3 (or Date of Manufacture if proof of purchase is not available). If TCP lamps and ballasts fail within this warranty period, TCP will provide a free one for one ballast replacement of the lamp and/or the ballast along with a corresponding labor allowance as determined by TCP as specified in Service Claims and Labor Options sections. TCP reserves the right to request defective product be returned for testing and verification.

TCP Lamp, TCP Ballast, TCP Luminaire (“System”)
Five years for TCP “System”4,5 from Date of Invoice (or Date of Manufacture if proof of purchase is not available – oldest date for components applies). If the TCP “System” fails within this warranty period, TCP will provide, at its discretion, replacement product or repair services in accordance with the Service Claims and Labor Options set forth below. TCP reserves the right to request defective product be returned for testing and verification.

Notes:
1 T8 lamps used in Occupancy Sensor applications must have a 15 minute per start, minimum and a Program Rapid Start ballast must be used.

2 Maximum operating case temperature to maintain warranty is less than 70°C (generally no more than 40° C maximum ambient).

3 TCP lamp warranty based on 3 hours minimum cycle time and a maximum of 4000 hrs of operation per year, for Occupancy Sensor

applications, please see note 1 above.

4 All components must be ordered, assembled and shipped from a TCP location.

5 For non-TCP components, the supplied manufacturer must be contacted for warranty claims.

These lamp and ballast warranties do not apply to failures caused by acts of God, or as a result of any abuse, misuse, abnormal use, or use in violation of any applicable standard, code, or instructions for use in installations including those contained in the National Electrical Code (NEC), the Standards for Safety of Underwriters Laboratory, Inc. (UL), Standards for the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) or, in Canada, the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). Technical Consumer Products reserves the right to inspect failed lamps, and/or ballasts to determine the cause of failure and patterns of lamp usage. The date of purchase and lamp installation date must be verified to validate the elapsed operating hours if a warranty claim is made.

Warranty Activation/Service Claims
These warranty policies are activated after TCP receives the completed “System Warranty Form” form within 30 days of product installation. An acknowledgment will be sent for each registration with a reference number for future correspondence. Service claims can be made by contacting Customer Care at 1-800-324-1496.

Labor Options
If required by the customer, TCP will contact a service provider and co-ordinate replacement at no cost to the user of the ballasts (or) TCP will reimburse the purchaser reasonable, customary and necessary labor charges required to install the ballast replacement. Labor options must be pre-approved by TCP. Any labor option or cost that is not pre-approved will not be eligible for reimbursements.

Return of Defective Products
After contacting TCP and receiving a Return Authorization Number, the user shall promptly return the product at the customer’s expense to TCP after receiving instructions as to if, when and where to ship product. Failure to follow this procedure voids this warranty.

The foregoing shall constitute the exclusive remedy of the purchaser and the sole liability of Technical Consumer Products for lamp and ballast warranties. NO WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE IS MADE OR IS TO BE IMPLIED. In no event shall Technical Consumer Products be liable for any other cost of damages including lost profits, incidental, special or consequential damages. TCP reserves the right to examine all failed lamps and/or ballasts and reserves the right to be the sole judge as to whether any lamps and/or ballasts are defective and covered under this warranty.
